The government of Mongolia has worked out 19th to 22nd reports regarding implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, and delivered them to United Nations High Commission on Human Rights on May 21.
Mongolia joined the convention in 1969, and is responsible to convey its report every two years in accordance with the 9th clause of the convention. This year’s reports reflect realization of recommendations through the previous reports given from the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The reports also display the clauses of the Mongolian Constitution about banning the discrimination of ethnic origin, language, race, age, gender, social origin, status, employment, religion, ideology and education. The clause which says “Every person shall be a legal subject” highlights prohibition of discrimination.
The reports emphasize that no complaint related to racial discrimination has been applied to the police organization or to the Commission for Human Rights.
