Daewoo Engineering wins US$610 mln deal from Qatar

SEOUL, Dec. 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's top builder Daewoo Engineering &
Construction Co. said Wednesday that it has finalized a US$610 million deal to
build a shipyard in northeastern Qatar.
Under the deal with state-run Qatar Petroleum Co., Daewoo Engineering plans to
complete the construction of the shipyard by the end of 2009, the builder said in
a regulatory filing.
Daewoo Engineering started work on the shipyard in December last year, shortly
after the two companies inked a preliminary deal, the company said.
