E Kalimantan Tax Revenue Up 4.76 Pct

Samarinda, E Kalimantan, Aug 14 (Antara) - Tax revenues of East Kalimantan totaled Rp8.393 trillion in the first eight months of the year, up 4.76 percent on-year. The tax revenues, however, wwre only 44.7 percent of the province`s whole year target of Rp18.778 trillion, provincial administration chief spokesman Jumri MM, said. The growth on-year was also lower than the growth of 9.73 percent on-year recorded for national tax revenue in the same period, Jumri said here on Wednesday. The mining and quarry sector was the largest contributor to the total tax revenue, accounting for 39.95 percent or Rp3.353 trillion, followed by the trade sector accounting for 11.72 percent or Rp983 billion. Other main contributors included the construction sector accounting for 8.67 percent or Rp728 billion, the manufacturing sector for 6.98 percent or Rp585 billion and transport sector for 6.38 percent or Rp535 billion. Jumri noted that tax revenues from the construction sector declined 7.19 percent this year. Meanwhile, the regional administration and legislative assembly sanctioned the province`s draft budget for 2015. The revised budget of the province was set at Rp9.32 trillion in a plenary session of the regional legislative assembly on Wednesday. The draft budget include Rp8.52 trillion in regional income, Rp5.54 trillion in regional original income (PAD), Rp2.61 trillion in fund from intergovernmental fiscal relations and Rp366.2 billion in other income. The proposed budget was Rp1.87 trillion lower than the budget set for 2014 at Rp11.19 trillion.
