Bali's Stone Statue Exports Rose 41.91 Pct

Denpasar, Bali, Aug 18 (Antara)- Bali exported stone statues worth US$4.22 million during the period between January and May 2014, an increase of 41.91 percent from US$2.97 million recorded during the same period last year. The number of stone statues exported to various countries also increased 186.41 percent from US$2.61 million in the first five months of 2013 to US$7.49 million in the same period this year, according to data furnished by the Bali industry and trade office here on Monday. The stone statue exports contributed 1.97 percent of Bali`s total export earnings, which reached US$215.04 million, a slight decline of 0.87 percent from US$216.92 million recorded during the same period last year. Panasunan Siregar, the head of the Bali Central Bureau of Statistics (PBS), stated that the United States received 20.38 percent of Bali`s exported stone statues, followed by Australia 10.39 percent, Japan 3.31 percent, Singapore 0.35 percent, France 15.48 percent, Hong Kong 0.04 percent, Spain 4.38 percent, Britain 1.10 percent, and several other countries 37.93 percent.
