E-Land Group to take over Esquire

SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Yonhap) -- E-Land Group, a South Korean fashion conglomerate, said
Friday that it has signed a preliminary deal to buy the entire stake in the
nation's leading shoe manufacturer.

E-Land plans to finalize the deal with Esquire Co. before the end of the year
after a due diligence on the company, which has faced increasing cash shortages,
the group said.
E-Land did not unveil its bidding price for Esquire.
