O.BURMAA WINS BRONZE MEDAL IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The female free-style wrestling 53, 58, 75 kg categories tournaments ended Thursday, with our O.Burmaa winning bronze medal in 75kg. This is the second medal of our female team in the United World Wrestling Championship which is running in Tashkent of Uzbekistan. A now twice bronze medalist of the world wrestling championship and State Honored athlete Burmaa Ochirbat defeated Andreya Olaya from Columbia by 3:0 in the match for the bronze medal. This is her third medal from world championships. She had a bye in the first match defeating Katerina Burmistrova from Ukraine, a champion and bronze medalist of world championship and twice champion of Europe with 5:0 points and got into the final’s eight. Then she faced Stanka Zlateva, five times world and six times European champion, and defeated her with 6:3 points. The match was a difficult one, as she was biting the dust by 1:3 points, and in the last 5 seconds she earned 5 points and won the match getting into the final’s four. She was defeated in a match for silver by Aline da Silva from Brazil, with 2:5 points. In overall, Mongolian team (male and female) has one gold and three bronze medals so far.
