Olele Festival To Promote Maritime Development Program

Gorontalo, Nov 3 (Antara) - The Bone Bolango District government will organize the Olele Festival in May 2015 to support President Joko Widodo`s maritime development program, a local government official stated here on Monday. "The Olele Festival will also promote the potential and superiority of the marine tourism sector in Bone Bolango District," remarked Head of the Transport and Tourism Department of Bone Bolango District Rudi Irawan. During the festival, the visitors can also enjoy the beauty of the coral reef at Olele beach, he noted. In the meantime, Head of Bone Bolango District Hamim Pou affirmed that the district`s huge marine potential could help to improve the welfare of its local residents. Therefore, the district government invited all stakeholders to develop the maritime zone, promote its resources, and support the festival. A local resident named Kifly said that the Olele Festival will serve to showcase the marine potential at the national and international level. "The marine biological resources of the Olele Sea have a huge potential, which need to be managed," he pointed out. The improvements in infrastructure facilities, such as roads and harbors in the coastal areas, must be carried out, he added.
