Hopes Golkar Leaders To Remain Solid: Aburizal
Nusa Dua, Dec 1 (Antara) - General Chirman of Golkar Party Aburizal Bakri has expressed hope that Golkar`s leaders will remain solid in maintaining the mission and vision of the Party.
"As the largest political party, Golkar must be able to maintain the solidness of its leaders and cadres in fighting for its mission and mission in the future," Aburizal said at the opening of Congress IX of Golkar here on Sunday night.
He said that it was admitted that there was a political dynamics developing within the party, yet the party must maintain the solidness and unity of its cadres in its efforts to create prosperity for the people.
"The Golkar Party is always ready to accept differences of opinion and prioritize the family hood spirit in seeking to resolve its internal problem," he said in front of thousands of Golkar cadres coming from across the country.
He said that in recent days there had been differences of opinion among Golkar leaders and cadres. There is even an attempt to deny the results of Golkar`s National Working Meeting held in Yogyakarta recently.
"One of the results of the national working meeting is a recommendation to organize the congress. All in the meeting jointly agreed the holding of the congress this month," Aburizal said.
Of late however, several senior leaders wanted to delay the congress or refuse the result of the Yogyakarta meeting by intending to organize the congress in 2015.
"But I am of the view that the congress should be held this month. The implementation of the congress is the result of the Yogyakarta meeting which decided that it should be held today (November 30)," the Golkar general chairman said.
But some did not agree the congress to be held this month, he said. They held a meeting and set up a Presidium of Golkar Saviors chaired by Agung Laksono. Yet all these are not based on the party`s internal rules (AD/ART).
"What the colleagues have done in setting up the Presidium is an expression of their disagreement over the current congress. But all of those were illegal and were done as a form of pressure so that the congress is held next year," he said.
Aburizal said that even though some disagreed with the congress to be held this month, yet he was determined to carry out the Yogyakarta meeting results, namely to organize the congress on November 30, 2015.
"I have to thank provincial, district and municipal party leaders who can think clearly and did not support the presidium because it is illegal," he said.
