SK Broadband cuts 15 executive jobs on downsizing

SEOUL, Dec. 12 (Yonhap) -- SK Broadband Co., South Korea's second-largest operator of broadband Internet, said Friday it has laid off 15 of its 42 executives as part of its downsizing efforts.
SK Broadband, a unit of SK Telecom Co., the nation's largest mobile-phone
operator, also plans to slim down its structure this month, but has no plan to
lay off other employees, company officials said.
SK Broadband was created this year when SK Telecom purchased a 39 percent stake
in Hanarotelecom Inc. for 1.09 trillion won (US$801 million) from former
controlling shareholders led by American International Group Inc. and Newbridge
Capital LLC.
