West loser of sanction against NITC

Tehran, Feb 26, IRNA – Managing Director of the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) Ali Akbar Safaei said the West is the loser in sanctioning his company.
He added that the NITC while pursuing its rights and proving illegality of renewed sanctions against the company will follow up the damage inflicted by the sanctions in international forums.
He said the renewed sanctions against NITC by EU are politically motivated and devoid of any technical and legal grounds.”
Stressing that the NITC is now the world's largest shipping company in terms of capacity, Safaei said that Western governments should know that by sanctioning the NITC they will not only fail in preventing international companies from taking advantage of this Iranian company but will deprive the international transportation industry of benefiting from a huge and standard capacity.
“The National Iranian Tanker Company by presenting firm legal evidence to international forums has proven its legitimacy and politicization of the imposed sanctions by Western governments and will continue the same way for proving its legitimacy once again.”
The European Union, in a politically motivated attempt, re-imposed sanctions against the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) on February 12.
EU imposed sanctions for the first time on the NITC on October 15, 2012 but due to the follow-ups and after presenting firm legal documents at international level, the sanctions were lifted on July 3, 2014.
The EU verdict to renew sanctions has been issued while there is no new legal justification and previous accusations have only been repeated.
