Visitors Thrilled By LIMA'15 Exhibition

LANGKAWI (Kedah, Malaysia), March 21 (Bernama) -- Thousands of visitors took the opportunity to get a closer look at aircraft and air assets on display at Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA'15) exhibition which opened to the public Friday. Visitors who came from all over the country were also entertained with aerobatic shows by the Krisakti team from Malaysia, Al-Fursan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), August 1st of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of the Republic of China and flight demonstration by Sukhoi 08, Falcon 01, Rafale, and the Black Knights of the United States. The public was also drawn towards an hour-long meet and greet session with three female pilots from the 1st August aerobatic team who were performing at LIMA'15 for the first time. Children did not miss the opportunity to pose with the three pilots from China's PLAAF, namely Capt Sheng YiFei, Capt Tao Jin Li and Capt Yu Xu, all aged 28. Fitree Helmy Halim, 28, who was visiting Langkawi during the school holidays said he did not want to miss the opportunity of visiting LIMA'15 for the first time and see it from up-close despite the scorching heat. "I brought the kids here for a holiday and it would have been a loss if we did not come to LIMA'15 and visit the exhibition because it is only held once every two years," he told Bernama here Friday. A visitor from Johor, Alyssa Nazaleq, 22, said LIMA'15 is the largest of the last three LIMA exhibitions she had visited. "I am impressed by the scale of this exhibition which is very big, including the maritime segment that I visited yesterday (Thursday)," she said. LIMA'15, which opened last Tuesday, was only opened to the public Friday, and saw the participation of 512 companies from 36 countries worldwide as well as 110 aircraft and 65 vessels. -- BERNAMA
