Crown Prince receives US Ambassador

Manama, May 26 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met the Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom of Bahrain, William Roebuck, at Gudaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness praised the longstanding ties between Bahrain and the US, and highlighted that cooperation between the two countries continues to grow across a wide range of areas, including economic and political affairs. His Royal Highness stressed the importance of the strategic relationship between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the US, and its important role in achieving long-term stability and prosperity within the region. His Royal Highness welcomed the outcomes of the US-GCC Council summit at Camp David and noted the opportunities the summit presented to discuss ways to further strengthen US-GCC cooperation and address regional and international security issues. In this regard, His Royal Highness went on to underline the importance of maintaining security in the region and continuing efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability is achieved. Ambassador Roebuck expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness, and welcomed His Royal Highness’s interest and support in further enhancing relations between Bahrain and the US.
