INDONESIA, CHINA TO SIGN AGREEMENT ON 8 PROJECTS
Jakarta, Dec 22 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian and Chinese governments have signed eight projects consisting of power, coal and oil and gas projects worth Rp35 trillion.
The signing of the projects was witnessed by vice president Jusuf Kalla and Chinese deputy prime minister Li Keqiang on the sidelines of the third Indonesia-China Energy Forum (ICEF) here Monday.
Energy and mineral resources minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said on the occasion that the ICEF meeting was important especially with regard to the current fluctuating oil prices and global financial crisis.
"The ICEF meeting provides an important momentum for Indonesia and China with regard to dealing with future challenges," he said.
The eight projects would also open some 32,000 job opportunities, he said.
The signing of the agreement on the loan for the 10,000 MW project was carried out by PT.PLN (state power company) and Chinese Exim Bank for two projects consisting of 489.1 million USD for the coal-fired power plant PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu in West Java
The other projects include the 1x660 MW PLTU Cilacap, Central Java, worth 605 million USD and 2.446 trillion IDR.
Then the power purchase agreement for PLTU Simpang Belimbing (2x113.5 MW) in Muara Enim, South Sumatra, worth of 330 million USD and coal mining in central Banko, South Sumatra, among PT BA, China Huadian corporation, Muara Enim local government and PT Trubua Alam Manunggal Engineering worth of 14.4 million USD.
Other projects include a biodiesel and materials factory worth 255 million USD, between ZTE Agribusiness Co Ltd, PT Kurnia Selaras and Chinese Development Bank in Jambi and South Sumatra, and a coal development project between PT Bumi Dharma Kencana and Lark Guandong Power Resources Inc in Melak, East Kutai, East Kalimantan worth 350 million USD
