UAE inks air services agreement with Bulgaria

DUBAI, 28th January 2016 (WAM) --- Chairman of the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, who is also Minister of Economy, and Bulgarian Minister of Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski, have signed an air services agreement to regulate flights between the two counties. The agreement sets a general legal framework allowing an unlimited number of national carriers of both countries to enjoy complete flexibility on the routes, capacity, frequency of flights and types of owned or chartered aircraft. Director-General of the GCAA, Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, said the new agreement serves the interests of both countries and supports the ambitious expansion of Emirati national carriers. In 2009 in Sofia, the UAE and Bulgaria initialled the air services agreement following talks between their civil aviation authorities. Al Suwaidi noted that the agreement will be sanctioned and registered with the International Civil Aviation Organisation after domestic constitutional procedures are completed. He stressed that such agreements contribute to promoting relations with other countries and boosting the UAE's economic sectors of trade and tourism. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395290816680.html
