Mohamed bin Zayed, President of Tajikistan hold talks

ABU DHABI, 17th March, 2016 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, discussed with President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, ways to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest. This came when Sheikh Mohamed received the President of Tajikistan, who is currently on a two-day official visit to the UAE. At the commencement of the meeting, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi welcomed President Rahmon and hoped the visit would further contribute to the development of friendly relations and co-operation between the UAE and the Republic of Tajikistan in various fields. They also discussed ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations between the two countries to wider levels and prospects in the fields of economy, investment, culture, tourism, and energy to serve mutual interests of the two friendly peoples and countries. Sheikh Mohamed stressed during the meeting that the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, always seeks to strengthen co-operation with the Republic of Tajikistan, and work closely together to develop them to achieve common objectives sought after by the two countries in the areas of trade and economic exchange, and setting up vital development projects. The President of Tajikistan expressed his satisfaction at his presence in the UAE, appreciating the good reception and hospitality accorded to him. He stressed his country's desire to strengthen co-operation with the UAE in the best interests of the two friendly peoples. They also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments as well as on a number of topics of common interest. The two sides stressed at the conclusion of their talks the importance of strengthening co-operation between the two countries, and expressed their desire to expand the horizons of co-operation. They welcomed the efforts of the two sides to promote economic co-operation to achieve further growth. Sheikh Mohamed and President Rahmon also confirmed that the region is facing serious challenges that threaten the stability, security and the safety of its peoples, particularly the growing phenomenon of terrorism. They emphasised the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to address these challenges in order to ensure stability and peace in the region and the world. The meeting was also attended by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention; Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, and head of the honorary mission; Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Riyad Abdulrahman Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Finance Department; Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council; Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Crown Prince's Court of Abu Dhabi, and Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
