Egyptian Orthodox Cathedral: UAE consolidates policy of religious enlightenment

ABU DHABI, 13th June, 2016 (WAM) -- The Saint Anthony Coptic Orthodox Cathedral Church in Abu Dhabi has commended the efforts of the United Arab Emirates, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to consolidate the policy of religious enlightenment and Islamic moderation principals and its teachings and timeless values. This came during an Iftar ceremony which was hosted by the church yesterday on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, as an expression of love and brotherhood between Muslims and Christians. The ceremony was attended by Counsellor Ali Al Hashimy, Religious and Judicial Adviser at the Ministry for Presidential Affairs, Wael Al Sayed Mohammed Gad, Ambassador of Egypt, the Reverend Anthony Michael and the Reverend Bishoy Fakhri, pastors of the church, along with a number of officials. Reverend Bishoy Fakhri expressed his greetings, on behalf of Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and also to the UAE government and people on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. - Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395296639680.html
