More Joint Rallies of Service Members and Civilians Held

Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- Joint rallies of service members and civilians separately took place on Friday in South Hwanghae Province, North Hwanghae Province, Jagang Province, Kangwon Province and Rason City in celebration of the successful nuclear warhead explosion test. The statement issued by the Nuclear Weapons Institute of the DPRK was read out and then congratulatory speeches were made at the meetings. Speakers said that the successful nuclear warhead explosion test is making the whole country pleased. Speakers called for waging a vigorous campaign to display single-minded unity in the drive for recovering from the flood damage in the northern part of North Hamgyong Province and create the Mallima speed, finishing the harvesting and threshing campaign in a short span of time and thereby concluding the 200-day campaign of loyalty with signal boost in grain production. They underlined the need for the People's Army to intensify training in the same spirit as displayed by the anti-Japanese guerrillas in Mt. Paektu with the firm standpoint that it will win victory in the fight against the enemy. They called for pushing forward the projects for registering more valuable research successes urgently required in defense industry and various fields of the national economy through a dynamic campaign for breaking through cutting-edge science and technology.
