15th Pyongyang International Film Festival Opens

Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- The 15th Pyongyang International Film Festival opened with due ceremony at the Central Youth Hall Friday. Introduced at the ceremony were long feature films, documentary and short films and films for special show, which are presented to the festival. Pak Chun Nam, minister of Culture and chairman of the festival organizing committee, in an opening address expressed the belief that the festival would be successful amid sincere efforts and cooperation of all participants. The flag of the festival was hoisted and members of international jury were introduced. Yuri Mityushin, chairman of the International Jury Committee, in a congratulatory speech said that the committee will do its work well to direct efforts to consolidating the prestige of the Pyongyang International Film Festival. The ceremony introduced prizes of the festival. At the end of the ceremony, they watched a feature film of the Russian Federation. The organizing committee of the festival hosted a reception for the festival participants at Okryu Restaurant on the same day. -0-
