S. Korea, New Zealand agree to cooperate in energy, tech, culture

SEOUL, Jan. 25 (Yonhap) -- South Korea and New Zealand agreed Sunday to
strengthen cooperation in energy, technology and cultural sectors in a bid to
foster more productive relations between the two countries, Seoul officials said.
The agreement was made earlier between New Zealand's foreign minister Murray
McCully and South Korea's Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Yu Myung-hwan who is
currently visiting the country, according to ministry officials.
Both also agreed to expand exchanges between government officials and lawmakers,
while pledging to cooperate at regional and international organizations for
national security and mutual economic benefits, they added.
New Zealand will be Yu's final leg of his three-nation state trip, which brought
him to Indonesia and Australia over the last week. He will return to South Korea
on Monday.
