-TURKEY APPRECIATES COOPERATION BETWEEN INDIA AND PAKISTAN
ANKARA (A.A) - 27.01.2009 - Turkey appreciated the cooperation which has been boosted recently between India and Pakistan in regard to arrests of several people linked to Mumbai attacks in India, a formal statement said on Tuesday.
Turkish Foreign Ministry released a statement and said South Asia has been facing several terrorist threats and social as well as economic problems.
"It is important to act together to overcome these problems. It is clear that there is also need for more cooperation," it said.
Turkey would keep contributing to efforts aiming at peace and stability in South Asia, the statement added.
More than 70 people were arrested last week in a crackdown on groups allegedly linked to the Mumbai attacks.
