ERC delivers food assistance to Perim island, Yemen

ADEN, 26th December, 2016 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent has delivered food assistance to the people of Perim Island as part of its relief programme to support areas liberated from the Houthi militia and forces loyal to defunct president Ali Saleh. Salem Al Aini, a notable from Perim, a volcanic island in the Strait of Bab el Mandeb at the south entrance into the Red Sea, thanked the ERC for rebuilding services utilities, which were destroyed by the Houthi-Saleh militias when they took control of the island.
