Strong Earthquake In Rantau Sumbawa, Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 30 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake, measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale, hit Rantau Sumbawa, Indonesia, at 6.30 am Friday. The Meteorology Department, in a statement, said the epicentre of the quake was at 111 kilometres south of Bima, Indonesia, and 1,338 kilometre south-east of Sarikei, Sarawak. However, the quake posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
