Zayed Initiative of giving has attracted a large number of doctors
ABU DHABI, 9th January, 2017 (WAM) -- The Zayed Giving Initiative has attracted a large number of doctors to provide healthcare services on the African continent, in a bid to alleviate the suffering of poor children and the elderly.
This initiative has sought to attract doctors and nurses to participate, as part of the UAE's medical volunteer team to work in UAE mobile voluntary clinics and mobile field hospitals, all within the framework of the "One Million Volunteers" campaign, seeking to donate one million-hours in the service of disadvantaged groups.
Dr. Reem Osman, Ambassador of Humanitarian Work, stressed that anyone who wishes to join the volunteer work needs to first register.
Dr. Adel Shamri, CEO of the Initiative, said that those who have volunteered have donated more than five million hours of volunteer work over the past 16 years, which contributed to alleviating the suffering of more than five million children and elderly in different countries, in addition to performing more than 10,000 free heart surgeries. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
