DPRK's Principled Stand on UN Charter Clarified
Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- A DPRK delegate recently addressed an annual session of the Special Committee on the Charter of the United Nations and on the Strengthening of the Role of the Organization.
The delegate clarified the DPRK's principled stand as follows, taking note of the report A/RES/71/146 presented by the special committee to the session:
The DPRK's measure for bolstering up its nuclear force is a legitimate step for self-defense as it is aimed to reliably defend the country's sovereignty and the nation's right to existence from the U.S. and its vassal forces' nuclear war threat and ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula and security in the region.
Every year the U.S. conducts, under the pretext of "annual and defensive", several large-scale joint military drills, nuclear war drills for bringing down a member of the UN, quite contrary to the purpose and principle of the UN Charter. What matters is that such war exercises are openly staged under the signboard of "UN Command"
The "UN Command" should be dismantled without delay in view of recovering the political entity and fame of the UN and in view of ensuring peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and the Asian-Pacific region.
The reality proves once again that the democratization of the UN should be realized as soon as possible as required by world community. -0-
