Samsung to supply advanced chips to Xilinx

SEOUL, Feb. 3 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electronics Co., said Tuesday it has signed a contract to supply advanced chips to Xilinx, a U.S.-based semiconductor company.

Under the deal, Samsung, the world's largest computer memory chip maker, will
provide Xilinx with 45-nanometer field-programmable gate arrays that can be
reprogrammed by the customer.
Samsung did not disclose specific terms, including the total amount and the
supply period.
Samsung said the advanced chips will be produced in its Giheung plant, about 60
kilometers south of Seoul.
