-TURKISH JEWELLERY EXHIBITION OPENS IN OMAN
MUSCAT (A.A) - 03.02.2009 - An exhibition opened in Oman's capital Muscat on Tuesday featuring a selected collection of Turkish jewellery craftsmanship.
The exhibition "Wonders of the Turkish Jewellery" displays over 110 pieces manufactured by designer Avedis Kendir, exploring marvels of traditional jewellery-making in Turkey, which has its glorious roots in the Ottoman Empire.
The three-day exhibition is jointly organised by the Turkish Embassy in Muscat and Ramesh Khimji, chairman of Ramesh Khimji Group of Companies, and it was attended by the ambassadors of various countries and dignitaries.
Avedis has showrooms in London, the United States and Istanbul, and the collection of his pieces at the exhibition is a proof to the rich jewellery heritage.
