70 more parking places to be built in Ulaanbaatar
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ New parking lots in some 70 locations of Ulaanbaatar city are planned to be built. On April 5, S.Batbold, Governor of the Capital and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar and other authorities of the governor's office got acquainted with the activities of the project to build or renovate parking spaces.
In the scope of the project, the Governor's Office of Ulaanbaatar is going to renovate car parking lots of Medical Center of Songinokhairkhan district, State Central Third Hospital and National Trauma Orthopedic Research Center as well as parking space along the 810-meter road near the Third Hospital of Bayangol District.
It is estimated the current green space per capita in Ulaanbaatar is around 2.3 sq.meters and the government's action plan set out to bring this number up to 5.3 sq.meters.
Mayor S.Batbold said that the Governor Office of Ulaanbaatar set on a mission to tackle the issue of shortage of parking space of the biggest public hospitals of the city. People seeking for emergency treatment come to the National Trauma Orthopedic Research Center. Unfortunately, they sometimes lose time to get first aid treatment due to insufficiency of space intended for parking vehicles.
Afterwards, the authorities of the capital city got familiar with conditions of parking garages located in the Songinokhairkhan District. In the near future, a 4-story parking garage building with a capacity of 400 vehicles is planned to be constructed as a replacement of the current parking garage, which has an area of 900 square meters.
