NHN Q4 net up 19.8 pct on higher revenue
SEOUL, Feb. 5 (Yonhap) -- NHN Corp., the operator of South Korea's top Internet
portal Naver, said Thursday its fourth-quarter earnings rose 19.8 percent from a
year ago on increased revenue from online ads and games.
Net income came to 101.3 billion won (US$73 million) in the October-December
period, compared with 84.5 billion won a year earlier, NHN said in a regulatory
filing. The figure marks an increase of 22.1 percent from the previous quarter.
Sales climbed 15.1 percent to 315 billion won in the fourth quarter and operating
profit gained 5.9 percent to 123.7 billion won.
For all of 2008, net income surged 30.6 percent on-year to 365.7 billion won,
with sales jumping 31.3 percent to 1.21 trillion won, the company said.
