Hong Kong chief executive to visit S. Korea this month
SEOUL, Feb. 6 (Yonhap) -- Hong Kong chief executive Donald Tsang will visit South
Korea later this month to discuss ways to promote ties between the two sides,
Seoul's foreign ministry said Friday.
During his trip from Feb. 19-20, Tsang is scheduled to hold a meeting with
Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan, pay a courtesy call on President Lee Myung-bak,
and meet business leaders here, the ministry said.
Tsang and Yu will "exchange opinions on ways to develop South Korea-Hong Kong
relations, counter the global economic crisis, promote mutual trade and
investment, and increase cultural and human exchanges," according to its press
release.
It would mark the first visit to South Korea by a Hong Kong leader since 1999,
when then chief executive Tung Chee-hwa made a trip.
