Vancouver, Feb. 6 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's Kim Yu-na won the women's single competition at the Four Continents figure skating competition on Friday, raising expectations that she will take gold in the 2010 Winter Olympics to be held in the same Canadian city.

Kim, a two-time world championship bronze medalist, scored 116.83 points at the
free skating competition held in Vancouver, following a world-record short
program performance of 72.24 points on Wednesday, for a total of 189.07 points.
Canada's Joannie Rochette came in second with 183.91 points, and Mao Asada of
Japan, last year's champion, came in third with 176.52 points.
"I couldn't win last year's competition because of an injury. I'm trying to keep
my health in good condition this year," Kim told reporters after her victory.
