UAE delivers OIC approval documents for charter
Jeddah, February 10, 2009 (WAM) - The UAE Consulate General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, said it delivered to the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) approval documents for the new OIC's charter.
The new charter, aimed at reforming the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) with calls for a high-profile international meeting to ease tension between Muslims and Christians, was unanimously adopted by leaders of the world's biggest Muslim body at its 11th Summit in Senegal in March 2008.
The UAE has approved OIC's charter in Federal Decree No. 112/ 2008, issued on December 24th, 2008, the Consulate said.
