US Army Pacific commander visits Bangkok

BANGKOK, June 5 (TNA) -- The Chief of the Defence Forces of Thailand welcomed the United States Army Pacific commander who paid an official visit to Thailand to discuss security issues. Gen Surapong Suwan-ath received Gen Robert Brown who was invited to pay the visit by the Royal Thai Army. Both discussed several security-related issues. Among them were bilateral and multilateral exercises including Cobra Gold. They agreed that such exercises were very meaningful for regional security and stability. Gen Surapong said Gen Robert’s visit confirmed good ties between Thailand and the US and would further boost bilateral relations and cooperation. (TNA)
