Sea fronts essential to boosting tourism

Manama, June 9 (BNA): Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf met with the Chief Executive to Bahrain Bay Company Ghaghan Suri, Bahrain Bay Development Director Ken Sweeni and Bahrain Bay Associate Manager Shaima Noor Al Dein. Present from the Ministry was also Chairman of the Central Planning Office Dominic Mc Polin. The meeting aimed to review sea front plans, which are significant in making Bahrain an important touristic destination. The Minister Khalaf welcomed the guests and stressed the Ministry’s support to plans aiming at improving sea front in Bahrain. He also commended Bahrain Bay Company’s development plan. Mr. Suri expressed his trust in the Ministry’s expertise and their dependable viewpoints with regards to enhancing the development plan of Bahrain Bay. He also lauded the Ministry’s contribution to improving infrastructure in Bahrain and providing a decent life to the Bahraini citizens. The meeting shed light on Bahrain Bay Company’s development plan, which contains several stages to develop sea front. Reference was also made to the successful events that took place in Bahrain Bay like the recent Food Festival. Other events and activities are to take place during this year. Khalaf stated that the Ministry continues to support the development of Bahrain Bay out of its belief in the importance of partnership with the private sector. The Ministry and the Central Planning Office have worked closely with the Bahrain Bay Company since its establishment.
