KAPPC Spokesman Urges U.S. to Stop Sanctions and Pressure on DPRK

Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee (KAPPC) in a statement Saturday denounced the U.S. for its frantic racket for putting military pressure and sanctions on the DPRK. The Trump group staged the madcap preemptive nuclear strike drills against the DPRK after deploying two nuclear carrier strike groups in the East Sea of Korea and by introducing B-1B strategic bombers from Guam. Then they brought nuclear submarine into Pusan Port and on May 30 held a missile interception test simulating the DPRK's inter-continental ballistic rocket attack. On June 1 they made public "independent sanctions" on the DPRK and on June 3 spearheaded the adoption of another "sanctions resolution" by use of voting machine of the UN. The statement branded this as the most hideous hostile act negating the right to independence and existence of the DPRK, and an extremely dangerous provocative act of pushing the situation on the Korean peninsula already on the verge of explosion into the extreme phase. Saying that it is shameless sophism and the height of high-handed and arbitrary practices for the U.S. and its vassal forces to find fault with the measures of the DPRK for increasing the military capabilities for self-defence, the statement clarified the following principled stand of the DPRK: 1. The U.S. and its vassal forces have to clearly understand that with nothing can they deprive the DPRK of its full-fledged right to have access to nuclear deterrence. 2. The U.S. and its vassal forces have to drop the foolish ambition of browbeating the DPRK through frantic sanctions and military pressure. 3. The U.S. persistent racket for sanctions and military pressure on the DPRK will accelerate the miserable end of the American empire. The U.S. has to clearly understand its rival and immediately stop the provocative sanctions and reckless military pressure, which is as foolish, reckless and suicidal an act as touching the fully-charged nuclear detonator. -0-
