TSAGAAN SUVARGA MOUNTAIN TAKEN UNDER LOCAL PROTECTION

Dornogobi /MONTSAME/ Tsagaan Suvarga Mountain, located in the territory of Mandakh soum, Dornogobi has been taken into locally protected area (LPA) by classification of natural reserves, with the decision of the Citizens Representative Meeting of Dornogobi aimag. Agreeing with MAK Company, license holder of Tsagaan suvarga copper mine, 11 ha of land was removed from the licensed area to take into LPA. Tsagaan Suvarga Mountain, (literally means White Stupa) uniquely white colored natural structure like stupa, has a large amount of copper and molybdenum resource. In natural reserve, it is prohibited to run activities that lead to alter natural virgin ecosystem and pollute water, including building construction and facilities that may affect positively to the environment, digging land for industrial use, carrying out explosion, mineral resource exploration and mining, hunting, and logging.
