Chinese tourism authorities visited Pattaya
CHON BURI, June 15 (TNA) -- Thai tourist police welcomed a delegation of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) in Pattaya City as they were inspecting security measures for Chinese tourists there.
The delegation led by Wang Xiaofeng, deputy director of CNTA, arrived in Pattaya on June 14. Tourist police commander Pol Maj Gen Prasert Ngernyuang led subordinates to receive the delegation which included CNTA representatives and chiefs of Hainan and Yunnan police.
Thai tourist police briefed the visiting delegation that they deployed officers in Pattaya around the clock to prevent crime including fraud against visitors.
Chinese visitors formed the biggest group of foreign tourists in Thailand and numbered about 8 million last year. Pattaya is one of their popular destinations in addition to Chiang Mai province.
Tourist police told the Chinese delegation that they intensified security measures and were ready to help Chinese visitors around the clock. (TNA)
