Hospital bomb suspect handed over to police

BANGKOK, June 20 (TNA) – The military handed over a hospital bomb suspect to the police for crime re-enactment and prosecution. Wattana Phumret, 61, former electrical engineer was earlier detained by the military for questioning after the arrest at a house in Ram-intra area. He was allegedly involved in the bombings in Bangkok in the past ten years, including the blast at Phramongkutkhlao military hospital last month, in which more than 20 were injured. He was identified by two security guards at the hospital and another witness for the bombing in front of Major Ratchayothin cinema complex in 2007. National Police Commissioner Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda and other senior police officials interrogated him before he would be taken to re-enact the crimes at three locations. (TNA)
