NATIONWIDE VOTER TURNOUT AT 66.54 PERCENT

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According to General Election Commission, voter turnout of the Presidential election is at 66.54 percent with 1,318,511 people casting their votes. Specifically, the turnout in the capital city was 67.73 percent with 613857 voters, while in the provinces, a total of 704654 people casted their votes, displaying 65.53 percent turnout. General Election Commission reported that the turnout is preliminary and 1836 voting stations have sent their results, while the transmission is being delayed in 148 voting stations. The voting poll of the 2017 Presidential election closed at 10 PM and the results are being transmitted to GEC server. By the order of the General Election Commission, some voting stations have started counting the votes by hand. The order states soums and district offices to randomly select 50 percent of the voting stations of the 2017 Presidential election to count every vote by hand.
