Bangkok grows yellow flowers in honor of late King
BANGKOK, June 29 (TNA) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) plans to grow various kinds of yellow flowers to pay tribute to HM late King Bhumibol Adulyadej as they are expected to be in full bloom during the royal cremation ceremony, scheduled in October.
The yellow colour represents Monday and HM late King Bhumibol was born on a Monday so that his birth colour is yellow.
The BMA is growing the seeds to prepare saplings for distribution to all districts as it is set to start growing saplings in August and it will take about two months for them to reach full bloom.
Officials from 50 district offices will be trained to grow the yellow flower plants on June 30 while interested persons can join the similar training on July 30 at the Suan Luang Rama IX Public Park free of charge.
The government declared October 26 a public holiday to allow public members to attend religious ceremonies on the royal cremation day at designated places across the country. (TNA)
