Internet portal Daum Q4 loss narrows on increased sales

SEOUL, Feb. 12 (Yonhap) -- Daum Communications Corp., South Korea's
second-largest Internet portal, said Thursday its fourth-quarter net loss
narrowed sharply from a year earlier on increased sales.
Net loss shrank to 2 billion won (US$1.4 million) in the October-December period
from a 11.2 billion won deficit a year ago, Daum said in a regulatory filing.
Sales rose 4.5 percent annually to 68.8 billion won, but operating profit tumbled
26.1 percent to 8.3 billion won.
Full-year net profit more than tripled to 46.9 billion won. Sales rose 11.4
percent on-year to 264.5 billion won last year, with operating profit reaching
38.7 billion won, Daum said.
