BANGKOK, July 4 (TNA) – Training of the army personnel to pull the royal chariot, carrying the royal urn of His Majesty late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in the royal cremation ceremony runs smoothly and will enter the second phase of training sessions in mid-July. The Royal Thai Army Ordnance Department is in charge of training 236 army personnel for pulling the royal chariot in preparation for the royal cremation ceremony of the late King this October. Maj Sitthisak Srinuandee, head of trainers said after one-month practise, all personnels clearly understood the training process, which focused on boosting physical strength for body movement and balance in seven postures. The daily training begins at 9 am to finish at 3pm. Trainers help adjust and improve their postures to make them ready for the royal procession. The rehearsal of two separate teams will be conducted this Thursday and will run for one week before the training will enter the second phase of the virtual rehearsal on July 13, in which a military truck, weighing two and a half tonnes, equivalent to the royal chariots will be used in the training.
