Samsung Group's heir apparent faces divorce filing

SEOUL, Feb. 12 (Yonhap) -- The only son of former Samsung Group Chairman Lee
Kun-hee is facing a divorce filing, sources said Thursday.

Lee Jae-yong, now serving as senior vice president of Samsung Electronics Co.,
the world's largest computer memory chipmaker, is widely predicted to inherit the
wealth and control of South Korea's leading business group from his 69-year-old
father.
According to the sources, Jae-yong's wife, identified only by her surname Lim,
filed for divorce from the 40-year-old businessman, seeking compensation
amounting to millions of dollars.
The couple married in 1998 and have one son and a daughter.
