Don Mueang Airport U-Turn bridge to be closed temporarily

BANGKOK, July 24 (TNA) – The Department of Highways will close the Don Mueang Airport U-turn bridge for three days from July 31 to Aug 2 for traffic impact assessment before the planned permanent closure. The department planned to close the bridge permanently from September 1 onwards for construction to widen the bottleneck on the outbound Vibhavadi Rangdsit Road. Montri Dechasomsakul, director of Highways Office 13, said the U-turn bridge would be dismantled to expand direct lanes from two to three lanes to relieve traffic congestion. He said motorists can use other U-turn bridges to enter Don Mueang Airport at the cargo area before the terminal, or at the Royal Thai Air Force base. (TNA)
