People welcome to loyal events July 27-28

BANGKOK, July 26 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has invited people from all walks of life to participate in loyal events organized nationwide during July 27-28 in honor of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty's 65th birthday anniversary on July 28. The prime minister publicly made the invitation through members of the media at Bangkok's Government House on July 25, following the Cabinet's weekly meeting. The prime minister said that people from all sectors are welcome to first participate in a merit making event of five religions at the Government House on July 27 at 7am, in which Cabinet members and their spouses will also take part. The prime minister told journalists that the public are also welcome to join in a mass Buddhist prayers event to be organized at the Royal Plaza at 6pm in the same day to pay tribute to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. At 6:30am on July 28, the prime minister stated that there will be a mass alms offering event to Buddhist monks at the Royal Plaza, in which Cabinet members and their spouses, as well as the general public are all welcome to participate. According to the Thai premier, the two-day events will also be similarly organized in provincial areas nationwide, in which the participating public are invited to wear polite black attire in the first day and white attire with black ribbons on the second day, in order to show a mass loyalty to the revered Thai monarchy. The prime minister noted that people participating in the loyal events will also receive Buddhist mantra prayers booklets presented by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, whose royal cartoon drawings are also imprinted on the cover of the mantra booklets.
