Flood threat on hospitals in Ubon Ratchathani
BANGKOK, Aug 8 (TNA) - The water level in two main rivers is still posing a flood threat on hospitals in Ubon Ratchathani’s Warin Chamrap district, said Dr Yorn Chiranakhon, the deputy chairman of the operation center for Public Health and Emergency Medicine
Damages on hospitals in flooded areas are still being evaluated. Two sub-district Health Promoting Hospitals have been affected by flood but the buildings are not submerged.
He said he was concerned about the water situation in the Chi River and the Mun River, passing the Warin Chamrap district before flowing into the Mekong River and it may cause flood at hospitals, he said adding a warning was issued to those hospitals.
He said about the flood situation in the northerneastern region that from July 28 to Aug 7, floods claimed 28 lives and most deaths were reported in the hard-hit province of Sakon Nakhon.
Regarding the flood-related illnesses, he said 46.66 per cent of patients have Athlete’s foot and 35.10 per cent patients suffer from cold. Meanwhile, about 20 per cent of the patients have psychological problems with 43.75 per cent of them are under stress and need special care. (TNA)
