Shaikh Nasser receives Arab volleyball champions, athletes

Manama, Aug. 8 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, received the Bahrain National Volleyball Junior Team on occasion of winning the 14th Arab Volleyball Championship, recently concluded in Jordan, as well as the Talented Athletics Team returning from its camp in France. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa on the athlete Rose Chelimo’s gold medal victory in the women's marathon at the World Athletics Championships in London. He indicated that this international achievement is the result of the ambitious strategy adopted by the Bahrain Athletics Association to developing the skills of young runners by enlisting them in training camps. His Highness commended the great achievements of the Junior Volleyball Team, stressing that the players were the best representatives of Bahraini sports in this Arab sports forum. His Highness called on the Bahrain Volleyball Association to continue with plans and programmes that ensure the progressive development of the Junior Team, commending the efforts of the association, headed by Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, to create the ideal atmosphere for the team. Khalid bin Hamad congratulates leadership, Shaikh Nasser His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated the National Junior Volleyball Team on winning the title of the 14thArab Volleyball Championship, commending the technical skill they demonstrated in the final match against the Omani team. His Highness extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. His Highness stressed that this achievement is the result of the unlimited support given by the wise leadership to the youth and sports sector in the Kingdom. His Highness praised the outstanding efforts of the Bahrain Volleyball Association, headed by His Excellency Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, through the implementation of developmental plans and programmes which enabled this achievement. The meeting was attended by Assistant Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, and members of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Volleyball Association and the Bahrain Athletics Association.
