Legal action against drone user

BANGKOK, Aug 10 (TNA) – A legal action has been taken against a person, who used a drone to take pictures of the airport of the Royal Thai Airforce (RTAF) while a security measure is put in place to prevent the use of the such equipment to record video clips of the RTAF base and facilities, said Air Force spokesman. Air Vice Marshal Pongsak Semachai, the spokesman, said the video clip of the RTAF airport, posted online had been investigated and the cameraman was facing a legal action for disclosing confidential information of the authorities. Before flying a drone, the spokesman said the user must register with the authorities and a drone user needs to ask for permission to fly over restricted areas. Now, the RTAF has electronic devises to jam the signal of the illegal drone in flight to bring it down. He advised drone users to study the related law and not to fly drones over government offices and restricted areas including the airports as it could cause an accident to the aircraft. (TNA)
