Vietnamese PM visits Thailand
BANGKOK, Aug 17 (TNA) – Vietnamese Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc is visiting Thailand from Aug 17-19 at the invitation of his Thai counterpart Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha.
It is his first visit to the Kingdom after he took his post on April 7 last year. He is accompanied by Minister of Industry and Trade, Minister of Planning and Investment, Minister of Science and Technology, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Minister of Information and Communications, as well as representatives from Vietnamese private sector.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is scheduled for bilateral meetings with Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha this afternoon at the Government House.
The discussion during the plenary meeting comprise multidimensional issues, ranging from defense and security cooperation, promotion of trade and investment, connectivity, to issues of regional cooperation, said the Ministry of Foreign Affair in its statement.
The two prime ministers will later today witness the signing of four Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and agreements: namely, the MOU on Economic and Trade; the MOU on Cooperation in the Field of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology; the MOU on the Establishment of Sister Cities between the Province of Trat and the Province of Ca Mau; and, the Agreement on Cooperation on Science, Technology and Innovation.
During the visit, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will also pay a courtesy call on President of the National Legislative Assembly, meet with high – level executive representatives from Thai business sector, and attend a business forum and the opening ceremony of “Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand” at Central Ladprao Department Store.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will travel to Nakhon Phanom Province to visit President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site, and meet with Thai communities with Vietnamese descendants. (TNA)
