Korat prepares for mobile cabinet meeting

NAHHON RATCHASIMA, Aug 18 (TNA) – Nakhon Ratchasima governor Wichian Chantharanothai on Friday met local officials, police officers and soldiers in preparation for the mobile cabinet meeting in this northeastern province on Aug 22. In this regard, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha will visit local officials on Aug 21 before he attends the Cabinet meeting at Suranaree Univesity of Technology on the next day. The province has planned to propose development projects to the Cabinet meeting for consideration such as a project to divert water from Pasak Jolasid Dam to Lam Takhong Dam with the budget of Bt4.2 billion a proposal to elevate the dual –track railway in Sikhio district and the provincial seatd. Today’s meeting planned security measures to be provided for the prime minister and cabinet members to maintain order during their visit. Five checkpoints will be set up to screen weapons. So far, there is no report of any irregularity or movement of any group of people. Besides the Cabinet meeting, the meeting of the joint committee of public and private sectors for economic development will be also held. It will focus on water management, sustainable solution to drought. The Interior Ministry convened a meeting with governors of 20 northeastern provinces and chairpersons of the Provincial Administrative Organization to review the issues to be raised during the meeting of the joint committee.
