Crocodile spotted in Phuket captured

PHUKET, Sept 1 (TNA) – Fisheries officials and local fishermen successfully captured a three-meter long crocodile, recently spotted recently off Bang Tao beach on the resort island of Phuket. The operation on the second night to search and catch the reptile was finished at 3 am Friday after the crocodile appeared at the lagoon, ten-meter deep. It is the same crocodile that was seen, swimming in the sea in a video clip, taken by a drone of a tourist on Aug 29. Five layers of 1,000-meter-long nets were used to catch the 200-kg crocodile, aged about ten years old. It became weak after fleeing to avoid the capture for two days. It was sent to the Andaman Sea Fisheries Research and Development Center in Thalang district to identify its species. Officials initially believe that it is a saltwater crocodile. (TNA)
